Deputy President to visit Sedibeng to follow up on Imbizo commitments

Deputy President Paul Mashatile will on Wednesday pay a visit to the Sedibeng District Municipality in Gauteng to monitor progress in the implementation of the commitments made during the Presidential Imbizo in August last year.

The visit, according to the Deputy President’s Office, is informed by his delegated responsibility of implementing rapid response interventions on service delivery and troubleshooting in service delivery hotspots.

“The Deputy President’s intervention will also be coupled with the coordination of the different spheres of government to improve the functioning of municipalities under the banner of the District Development Model (DDM),” the office said.

The visit aims to provide feedback to the municipality’s residents and display the progress achieved since the Presidential Imbizo.

Minister Angie Motshekga, the DDM champion in the Sedibeng District Municipality, will accompany the Deputy President.

Also attending will be the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Senzo Mchunu; Minister of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Maropene Ramokgopa; Minister of Cooperative Governance and Administration, Thembi Nkadimeng; Deputy Minister of Public Enterprises, Obed Bapela; Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Administration Parks Tau, and the Deputy Ministers of Water and Sanitation, David Mahlobo and Judith Tshabalala.
