Drug dealer arrested in Barkly West

NORTHERN CAPE – The Barkly West SAPS Crime Prevention unit operationalised information received and pounced on an alleged drug dealer.

On Saturday, 4 December 2021 at about 10:30 police spotted the vehicle in Barkly West where it was stopped and searched.

The suspect was found inside the vehicle with 120 Mandrax tablets and 50g Tik in his possession.

The total street value of the drugs is estimated at R10 000.

The suspect will soon appear in the Barkly West Court soon, on charges of dealing in drugs.

“The Frances Baard District Commissioner, Maj Gen Johan Bean commended Sergeants Moilwa and Jacobs and Constables Kumbi and Blom from the Barkly West Crime Prevention unit for their alertness. These actions will continue during the Safer Festive Season operations. The community is also thanked for their role in providing such crucial information which led to the apprehension and arrest of the suspect. This is partnership policing at its best, said Gen Bean”.
