PARKTOWN — The South African Police Service (SAPS) announced the closure of a significant drug lab in De Deur, following an intelligence-led raid that resulted in the arrest of four individuals. The operation, carried out by the Sedibeng Flying Squad and K9 Unit, led to the seizure of drug manufacturing equipment and drugs worth approximately R2.3 million.
According to the South African Police Service, the raid was executed after actionable intelligence was received about suspicious activities at a property in De Deur. Officers discovered a fully operational drug lab during the search, seizing substantial quantities of mandrax and the equipment used for manufacturing illegal substances. The four suspects, aged between 37 and 56, including the owner of the property, were arrested at the scene. They are expected to face numerous charges, including drug possession, dealing, and manufacturing, in an upcoming court appearance.
