Dtic to host business seminar in Kuruman

The Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic) will host a Business Seminar in Kuruman in the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality, Northern Cape, on Friday.

The Kuruman Business Seminar is part of the dtic's ongoing campaign to promote entrepreneurship and business development in South Africa.

The seminar will be administered in the form of an information-sharing session, where the dtic and representatives of its agencies will engage with the youth and Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMMEs) on how to register companies and secure funding for running businesses, amongst others.

Trade, Industry and Competition Deputy Minister, Nomalungelo Gina, has reiterated the dtic’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurs, particularly small businesses in South Africa.

“This series of Izimbizo to our people provides us with an opportunity to share important information with communities on the ground about the work we are doing and have been doing.

“Strategic guidance is given to businesses on how to access our incentives through our own agencies. Through initiatives such as the Kuruman Business Seminar, we are providing young people with the tools and resources they need to succeed in business and contribute to the Northern Cape’s economic growth,” the Deputy Minister said.

The seminar is open to young people interested in entrepreneurship and business development. It will feature expert speakers, interactive sessions, networking opportunities and exhibition by government agencies.

"We are excited to take our imbizo to the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality. This is a mining-dominated district with businesses that are part of the minerals ecosystem, including SMMEs.

“We need to interact with them and the department can play a crucial role in helping the growth of these companies,” Gina said. – SAnews.gov.za
