POTCHEFSTROOM – Molefe Andries Ntshudisane (37) and Marumo Lazarus Moitsiwa (25) were remanded in custody upon appearance before the Moretele Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 11 August 2022 and Friday, 12 August 2022 for murder, house robbery and rape. They will reappear before the same court on Wednesday, 17 August 2022.
The accused’s court appearances stems from their apprehension after Ntshudisane allegedly informed his family members that he killed Amanda Mmamiki Tsatsi (74). Thus, Cyferskuil police were summoned and Ntshudisane was arrested after the body of the old woman was discovered in her house in Matlala Section, Cyferskuil.
Preliminary investigations indicated that Tsatsi was at home on Sunday, 07 August 2022, when the duo overpowered and assaulted her with a blunt object; then raped her. The accused allegedly fled the scene after taking stokvel money that was in the house.
Good investigative work by the Cyferskuil Detectives, led to the tracing and ultimate arrest of Moitsiwa on Wednesday afternoon, 9 August 2022.
The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, congratulated the Cyferskuil Detectives for their quick reaction. He said it is disturbing that the old woman was violated and killed during Women’s Month.
