Dubai – Addis Ababa – Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, visited the Ethiopian Green Legacy Pavilion at the 28th United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai. The pavilion, located in the Green Zone, highlights Ethiopia’s development initiatives related to its Green Legacy project. This visit took place ahead of the official launch of the pavilion, as stated by Prime Minister Abiy on social media.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the pavilion demonstrates Ethiopia’s dedication to addressing climate change through practical solutions. Prime Minister Abiy expressed gratitude towards Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his visit to the pavilion, emphasizing the significance of Ethiopia’s efforts showcased at COP28.
The 2023 UN Climate Change Conference in Dubai is a pivotal event, with world leaders convening to strategize on combating global climate challenges. The conference is expected to draw over 60,000 attendees, including delegates from United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) member states, industry leaders, youth activists, indigenous community representatives, journalists, and other stakeholders. The ten-day event aims to forge a united and ambitious approach in the ongoing global fight against climate change.
