Nkurenkuru: A five-month-old boy has died from a head injury allegedly inflicted by his father during a domestic dispute three months ago in Nkandi village, Kavango West Region. The father now faces a murder charge linked to the incident, which occurred when a stone intended for the child’s mother instead struck the infant.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the Namibian Police Force’s crime report states that the father threw the stone during a domestic violence altercation, aiming for the baby’s mother. The infant was initially taken to Nankudu Hospital and later transferred to Windhoek for further treatment due to a skull fracture. Following his discharge, the child attended regular follow-up appointments at Nankudu Hospital, with the last visit occurring on October 11, 2024.
The report confirmed that the child succumbed to his injuries at his mother’s residence. As a result, authorities have opened a case of murder against the father, who is currently in police custody. The charge is being pursued under
the provisions of the Domestic Violence Act.
