National Biodiversity E-permitting System launches at World Wildlife Day Celebration in Kruger National Park

The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) is to launch the National Biodiversity Electronic Permitting System at the celebration of World Wildlife Day at the Protea Marriot Kruger Gate Hotel in Mpumalanga on 3 March 2023.

The National Biodiversity Electronic Permitting (ePermitting) system will go live on 1 April 2023 and will allow applicants to apply for permits online and Management authorities to evaluate and issue permits online.

3 March 2023 also marks 50 years of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and the declaration of World Wildlife Day. South Africa joined CITES, the 183-member international body that advises and controls the cross-border trade in listed species, in 1975.
