Gauteng Legislature leads petition public hearing on service delivery, 29 Nov

Standing committee on petitions hears service delivery issues in the Sedibeng region
The Gauteng Legislature’s Standing Committee on Petitions will lead a Petitions Public Hearing at the Saul Tsotesti Sports Complex in Sebokeng on Tuesday 29 November 2022. The committee aims to resolve the Sedibeng region’s adopted, yet unresolved service delivery-related petitions.
The hearing will focus on adopted petitions that cover the region’s service delivery issues ranging from a request for storm water drainage system to relief flooding leading to residents houses during rainy days; the construction of tar roads; substandard and structural damages experienced by residents of Sicelo Flats in Meyerton and a request for a clinic in the ward 11 of Sharpeville.
The allocation of RDP homes has become a normality on the Petitions register for all the regions and the Committee aims to fast-track the resolution of residents’ petitions to address service delivery challenges in communities, while strengthening the capacity of the Provincial Government and Municipalities to deliver on their mandates.
