Increased Stock Theft at Syferfontein Farm Spurs Police Manhunt in Modimolle

POLOKWANE: Modimolle police have initiated a search for unidentified suspects following a stock theft incident at Syferfontein farm, located along the R33 in the Waterberg District, which occurred on the night of Friday, 11 October 2024.

According to South African Police Service, the perpetrators forcefully entered the farm after dark and captured a Beefmaster cow, a breed known for its value and size. The suspects slaughtered the animal on-site and transported the carcass using a vehicle. A portion of the cow, valued at approximately R40,000, was left behind at the scene, indicating a hurried escape.

Local authorities have issued a public appeal urging anyone with information that could lead to the apprehension of the culprits to come forward.
