Integrated police operations land suspects behind bars for possession of drugs

CAPE TOWN – On Wednesday, 09 March 2022, an integrated operation between Crime Intelligence, Bonnievale and Robertson SAPS led to the arrest of a suspect when they received information about a black Mercedes Benz that is transporting drugs.

The information was operationalized and the vehicle was stopped and searched and 200 gram crystal meth and 190 mandrax tablets were found in the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and detained on a charge of possession of drugs.

Once charged, the suspect will appear in the Robertson Magistrate’s Court on the mentioned charge.

Furthermore, an integrated operation between Crime Intelligence, Mbekweni Crime Prevention Unit and Boland K9 Unit, yesterday, landed two suspects, aged 27 and 28, behind bars when they searched a premises in Nozolile Street, Project Two, Mbekweni.

The members followed up information about drugs at an identified premises. The premises was searched and 452,1 gram tik, 124,35 gram mandrax powder, 442 whole mandrax tablets, 20 half mandrax tablets, nine quarter mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash were confiscated.

Once charged, the suspects are due to appear in the Paarl Magistrate’s Court on possession of drugs charges.
