Kutloanong man arrested with unlicensed firearm and ammunition during intelligence driven operation

ODENDAALSRUS – On the 17 December 2021 at about 17:00 Crime Intelligence operationalised information with Odendaalsrus Visible Policing members and a house in K7 Kutloanong was approached.

Members requested to conduct a search and a 31-year-od man was found with a Norinco pistol with the serial number filed off and six live ammunitions.

The suspect could not produce a license for the firearm and he was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunitions. He will appear in the Odendaalsrus Magistrate Court on the 20 December 2021.

The District Commissioner of Lejweleputswa, Maj Gen Lerato Molale lauded Crime Intelligence and Odendaalsrus Visible Policing for following this sensitive information which led to the arrest and seizure of a firearm. This is a breakthrough because this firearm might have committed serious crimes within our communities.
