Lejweleputswa District FCS Unit releases identikit of suspect wanted for rape

WELKOM – The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is investigating a case of rape of a 32-year-old woman who was raped by an unknown man on Saturday 30 October 2021, at approximately 17:15.

The woman reported that she was at the hiking spot near the intersection in Koppie Alleen road in Riebeeckstad when an unknown man accosted her from behind and dragged her into the bushes where he repeatedly raped her. She was stabbed several times. He fled the scene on foot with cash, cigarettes and a jacket that was taken from her.

After the rape ordeal, she was assisted by a passing Police member at about 20:00 who took her to Bronville Police Station to register a case.

An identikit of the suspect was compiled. He is dark in complexion, slender build, 1,9 in height, he has a green ink tattoo on his left and right hand. He was wearing a black bucket hat, black shirt and denim. He was speaking Afrikaans and Sotho.
