Man arrested for dealing in dagga in Upington

A 33-year-old man was arrested in Upington CBD on Saturday, 11 July 2020. The K9 member, Sergeant Horace Burden was on patrol when he noticed a suspicious looking man wondering around the street with luggage.
He approached the suspect to interview him and eventually requested to search his luggage whereby 32kg of dagga was found in the bag. He was arrested and detained in Upington cells for dealing in dagga. The dagga confiscated with an estimated street value of R227 340-00.
He will soon appear before the magistrates’ court.
