Man to spend 8 years in prison for possession of child pornography

DURBAN – Yesterday, the Port Shepstone Regional Court sentenced Storm Malcolm Andrews (30) to eight years imprisonment for possession of child pornography. His sentence follows after the court heard evidence that was presented during his trial.

On 30 March 2021, police received information that Andrews was in possession of videos containing child pornography. Detectives from Provincial Family Violence and Child Protection Unit, Serial and Electronic Crime Investigation section proceeded to Union Street in Uvongo where the accused was arrested. He was found in possession of videos containing child pornography. His cellphone was seized for further investigation. A case of possession of child pornography was registered at Margate SAPS. The accused made several court appearances until he was sentenced.
