Manhunt Underway After Businessman Killed in Motetema Shooting


MOTETEMA – The Limpopo Police have launched an intensive manhunt following a fatal shooting that occurred late Sunday night, March 31, 2024, in Motetema, Groblersdal, resulting in the death of a local businessman and injuries to two others.



According to South African Police Service, the 38-year-old victim was spending time with acquaintances beside their vehicle at a tavern in Leeufontein village when they were abruptly fired upon by an unidentified gunman.



The businessman was pronounced dead at the scene due to multiple gunshot wounds, while the injured parties received immediate medical attention. Authorities have initiated a murder investigation alongside two attempted murder inquiries in light of the violent episode.



Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, the Provincial Commissioner, has assured the public that all available resources are being mobilized to track down and capture the assailant, emphasizing the commitment to achieving justice for the victims.
