RITAVI, MOPANI DISTRICT — Ritavi Police have initiated a manhunt for two suspects involved in a carjacking, kidnapping, and subsequent arson that occurred in Nkowankowa Section A on Saturday, August 3, 2024. The incident began when a 27-year-old man driving a white Audi A3 was forcibly stopped and abducted by two armed men.
According to South African Police Service, the victim was en route to pick up a friend when a red sedan blocked his path. Two assailants, one armed with a firearm, emerged from the vehicle, forced the victim into the back seat, and drove away. They later threatened his life and abandoned him in the Letsitele Valley area, where he managed to escape and seek help in a nearby village.
The victim’s vehicle was later discovered burned in bushes near Letsitele and Coach House roads. Detective Sergeant Kholofelo Kekana, leading the investigation, urges anyone with information about the incident or the suspects to contact him directly or use the crime stop hotline and the MySAPS App to report anonymously.
The search for the suspects remains active as authorities work to bring the perpetrators to justice and uncover the motives behind this violent crime.
