Mashashane police celebrate Youth Day

In conclusion of youth month, Mashashane SAPS celebrated Youth Day at Maraba Tribal Authority in Kalkspruit sports ground on Tuesday 28 June 2022 in conjunction with Kgoshi Maraba Reviving Hope Multi-Purpose Center.

They were also partnered with the Polokwane Municipality and Department of Social Development and Services during an event that was attended by the Youth from Naledi, Ga-Maraba, Bergzicht, Lepotlako, Waschbank, Kalkspruit and surrounding villages.

The following stakeholders honoured the invitation comprising of Ward 41 and 42 Councillors, SITA Services, Capricorn Tvet College, University of Limpopo, CDM, Capricorn District, SEDA, Save the Children Organization, Community Policing Forum (CPF), Young Civilians on Patrol (Ycops) and the Departments of Labour, Economic Development, Arts and Culture.

Provincial Career Management official, Captain Ledwaba was afforded an opportunity to enlighten the youth about career opportunities that are offered in the South African Police Service.

Afterwards, the Station Commander Captain Phuti Phoko made a presentation about the following essential aspects:

* Cable theft

* Domestic Violence (DV)

* Crimes against Women and Children

* Stock theft

* Negative impacts of having a criminal record

* Payment for Informers who provide positive information to the police.

Consequently, Career Guidance pamphlets pertinent to various professions in the SAPS and current Police Trainee application forms were also distributed during the progression of the Youth Day celebration.
