Massive manhunt launched for business robbery suspects

POLOKWANE – The South African Police Service dedicated joint Task Team comprising Mokopane Detectives and Crime Intelligence Unit, has been hard at work tracing a group of unknown suspects involved in a business robbery incident that occurred at a Distribution Company around the industrial area in Mokopane town.

It is alleged that on 03 January 2020 at about 01:10, about seven suspects wearing balaclavas confronted a 56-year-old security guard at this company, pointed him with a firearm and tied up both his hands and feet with wires.

The suspects then broke into the store and grinded open two safes where they managed to get away with cash amount of over R300 000 and other items such as footage device and laptop.

Police were called to the scene and reacted swiftly. During investigation, they discovered two (02) blasting cartridges and five (05) electric detonators in the nearby bush, believed to be the ones used to blast the safes.

Police are appealing to the person appearing on the attached picture to avail himself at Mokopane police station or nearest police station to assist the police with investigations.
