Khorixas: President Nangolo Mbumba commended Swapo’s achievements in Namibia, focusing on developments in Khorixas, as he addressed a rally on Saturday. The President highlighted the party’s contributions to infrastructure and education, emphasizing Swapo’s commitment to the region and the nation over the past 34 years.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Mbumba showcased the recently inaugurated Khorixas Vocational Training Centre as a testament to Swapo’s efforts in enhancing educational facilities. He stated that the centre, inaugurated on August 7, stands as a symbol of progress brought by the Swapo Party government to the people of Khorixas and the Kunene Region. Mbumba assured that the party’s manifesto reflects realistic and achieved goals, not empty promises, detailing the government’s accomplishments and future plans for Namibia’s political, social, cultural, and economic progress.
Mbumba also informed attendees that the Swapo-led government has invested N.dollars 10 million into constructing and up
grading medical facilities within the Kunene Region. However, he noted that the party’s manifesto did not address ongoing drought issues but acknowledged the human-wildlife conflict in the area. Mbumba mentioned efforts to resolve this conflict, including collaboration with traditional chiefs and the Ministry of Environment, which has improved compensation to affected communities and engaged in conflict mitigation strategies.
He urged citizens to support Swapo in the upcoming national elections in November, promising continued development for Khorixas and the broader Kunene Region.
