MEC Allen unpacks 100 days in office
Tomorrow, Western Cape MEC of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Reagen Allen, will conduct a press conference, where he will unpack his first 100 days in office. Minister Reagen Allen, who was born and bred in Mitchells Plain, was sworn in on 26 April 2022.
MEC Reagen Allen will report back on the commitments he made on his first day in office, while highlighting various initiatives which were launched or reintroduced during this period. Among others, these include highlighting how the Law Enforcement Advancement Plan (LEAP) and K-9 Units are force multipliers and assisting in the fight against crime, the reintroduction of the R5 000 reward to community members to report an illegal firearm, embarking on various patrols with Neighbourhood Watches and other safety stakeholders and being the first MEC to attend the election of the Provincial CPF. He will also report on his oversight of police stations across the province.
MEC Reagen Allen said: “I’m looking forward to reporting back on my first 100 days. Having engaged an array of stakeholders, I’m filled with renewed hope that at least on ground level we’re all committed to strengthening SAPS’ hand, so that we can all fight crime together.”
