MEDIA ADVISORY: NCOP TO CONSIDER THE 2019 APPROPRIATION BILL

Parliament, The National Council of Provinces (NCOP) will at its plenary sitting tomorrow, consider the 2019 Appropriation Bill.

The Bill adopted by the National Assembly (NA) last week, will now be processed by the NCOP for concurrence – as required by Section 213 of the Constitution and Section 26 of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA). The PFMA requires that Parliament’s two houses, the NA and the NCOP, authorize the allocation of money from the National Revenue Fund to various state institutions to enable its expenditure.
