Memorial service of the late Brigadier Sampie Koopman

The police and community of the ZF Mgcawu District gathered today in honour and memory of the late Station Commander of Upington SAPS, Brigadier Sameul “Sampie” Koopman.
The bereaved family received messages of condolences from speakers who also shared words of comfort and their journey with him in different organisations and activities he was involved in.
Brigadier Sampie Koopman was described as dedicated and committed towards his work. He was brave and a straight talker who served the community with pride. He will surely be missed by the following most used words, “wetter” and Here lei my”. May his soul rest in peace.
The service was graced with the presence of the Acting Provincial Commissioner of the Northern Cape, Major General Phiwe Mnguni.
The Employee Health and Wellness through Spiritual Services in the district invited Pastor Jacques Venter from CRC Upington for a prayer in conclusion of Police Safety month.
