NamPol Arrests Suspect in March Murder Case of Sibuku Calvin Sinyepe

KATIMA MULILO: The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Zambezi Region on Monday apprehended a suspect involved in the March murder of 42-year-old Sibuku Calvin Sinyepe. The suspect is scheduled for a court appearance at the Katima Mulilo Regional Court on Wednesday.

According to Namibia News Digest, NamPol’s spokesperson for the Zambezi Region, Inspector Kisco Sitali, detailed that Sinyepe was fatally shot in a late-night attack as he was returning home. The case had remained unresolved since the incident occurred in March, with the police actively seeking leads. The breakthrough came from information and tips that led to the arrest of the suspect at a local shop in Katima Mulilo. Believed to have been hiding in Zambia, the suspect was apprehended and found in possession of the deceased’s mobile phone.

Inspector Sitali confirmed that the mobile phone discovered with the suspect was indeed that of Sinyepe, stolen on the night of the murder. Family members further identified the phone and verified the matc
hing serial number. The ongoing investigation continues as police work to uncover further details and possibly additional suspects involved in the crime.
