Online Directory For Ghanaian Women Launched In Accra

The first women-owned on-line Directory for Ghanaian women in business (www.gwibdirectory.com) has been launched in Accra.
The Directory, called the GWIB Directory, is to provide a platform where women in business and leadership can network, connect and do business.
According to Mrs Anita Wiafe-Asinor, Managing Director of Occupational Management Limited Africa (OML Africa), organizers of the event, the GWIB Directory would also be a platform where women entrepreneurs and business owners meet, celebrate achievements, share challenges and solutions as well as inspire and motivate members.
Mrs Wiafe-Asinor said women needed to come together and support each other in business through partnerships and advocacy.
The launch took place at the just-ended Ghana Women In Business Conference (GWIB), which was chaired by Ms Eva Lokko, the first female Director-General of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, was attended by nearly 100 women business owners, entrepreneurs, bankers, politicians, fashion designers, image consultants and  beauty therapists, among others.
A major highlight at the conference was a presentation by Matilda Asante-Asiedu, Head of Corporate Affairs, Access Bank, who announced the bank’s strategy for women business owners and customers of various age-groups.
Other prominent speakers who dealt with various topics affecting women in business and leadership included Samia Nkrumah (national chairperson of the Convention People’s Party); Dzigbordi Dosoo (Allure Africa); Grace Amey Obeng (FC Group); Gifty Anti (the Host, The Standpoint) and Akumaa Mama Zimbi (top actress and award winning radio hostess).
The others were Anita Erskine (Brand Woman Africa); Ethel Cofie (Edel Technologies); Rasheeda Yehuza (Nasara Tech); Anne Amuzu (Nandi Mobile); Mandy Hayford (Iye Naturals) Ruka Sanusi (Alldens Lane); Jennifer Agyeman (Amazing U) and Katherine Lois Tosan-Woode (Africa World Airlines).
Concluding the powerful speaking faculty were Stella Appiah-Nkansah (Vodafone Ghana); Edwina Assan (Edtex Ltd, Belinda Dua (AB Business Consultancy); Eugenia Teachie Menson (2014 Vlisco ambassador); Nadine Rix (Nyansa Africa); Victoria Assaman (Torine Coaching); Mercy Mintah (Trive Consulting): Shika Obeng (FC Group) and Marina Odei (CM Consult).
