Operation Sikhona in full swing in Joe Gqabi District

JOE GQABI DISTRICT – SAPS men and women in blue in the Joe Gqabi District embarked on several crime prevention operations including roadblocks at the start of the Easter weekend as the traffic volume increased into the District.

Roadblocks was held in Aliwal North, Barkly East, Sterkspruit and Ugie.

Different role players joined the SAPS and units including the Provincial traffic, municipal traffic, fire and rescue, EMS and Department of Transport.

At the Sterkspruit roadblock 15 kg dagga was found in a vehicle that was stopped and searched. A 37-year-old suspect was arrested.

The crime prevention operations will continue this weekend so our community can feel and see our presence as we make sure every person is kept safe and secure as they enjoy their long Easter weekend.

The acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Rudolph Adolph commended the members on their commitment and dedication to keep our community safe.
