NORTHERN CAPE – In an effort to remove drugs from the streets and address crime in ZFM district, members of the ZF Mgcawu District Task Team together with the Upington K9 unit arrested four suspects between the ages of 26 and 49 for dealing in drugs in the Postmansburg and Danielskuil area on Sunday, 23 October 2022.
Drugs including mandrax, tik and dagga with an estimated total value of R25 704-00 were confiscated.
The police continued to sweep the streets for any illegal activities and six more people were arrested for riotous behaviour.
Meanwhile the police in Rosedale effected the arrest of three men and a woman aged between 18 and 33 for armed robbery that occurred on Saturday, 22 October 2022 in Extension.
The firearm used in the commission the crime has been confiscated and sent for ballistic testing.
All the suspects will be appearing in their respective courts soon.
The Acting District Commissioner of the ZF Mgcawu, Brigadier Peet Coetzee conveyed his gratitude to the members for the effort to ensure a safe and secure environment for all.
