JOE GQABI DISTRICT – SAPS endeavours to keep our communities safe and secure continued over the weekend and yielded several successes during ‘Operation Vhuthu Hawe.’
Most of the stations in the in the District including Mount Fletcher, Sterkspruit, Aliwal North and Lady Grey participated in several crime prevention activities including the enforcing of compliance of the Disaster Management Act Regulations, visiting liquor outlets and continued with high visibility blue light patrols.
At some stations, the SAPS were joined by the local and provincial traffic department.
Successes included several traffic fines, the closing down of illegal liquor outlets and the confiscation of dangerous weapons and also a drunk and driving case.
The acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Rudolph Adolph commended all the stations on the different crime prevention endeavours.
We will continue with our high visibility patrols, stop and search and monitoring and enforcing the Covid-19 Disaster Management Act Regulaitons.
