OSHAKATU — A 20-year-old man was taken into custody on Saturday, accused of the rape of a 21-year-old Angolan woman in the Omulamba location of Oshikuku. The arrest was made following the incident, which occurred during the early morning hours.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Commander for the Omusati Region of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol), the suspect allegedly entered the victim’s unlocked rental room and committed the act. The police have continued their investigation into the details surrounding the incident. Commissioner Basson also stated that the suspect is scheduled to make his first court appearance at the Oshakati Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
