GQEBERHA – SAPS Mount Road detectives are investigating a culpable homicide after an unknown man ran across the N2 freeway and was hit by a VW light delivery vehicle this morning, 4 May 2022.

It is alleged that at about 09:25, on the N2 just before the Gelvandale off ramp in the direction of Deal Party, the driver of a VW LDV was unable to avoid the man thus colliding into him as he ran across the road. The pedestrian died on the scene. He is unknown at this stage and was wearing ‘flip flop’ sandals with a grey and white tracksuit pants and a maroon coloured tracksuit top.

The investigation is ongoing.
