Provincial Commissioner visits headman Mahlangu after five children went missing

POLOKWANE – The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has on Tuesday, 08 September 2020 visited Headman Mahlangu in Madonkene village outside Monsterlus in the Hlogotlou policing area under the SAPS Sekhukhune District.
The visit follows the mysterious disappearance of five children aged between 6 and 7 from Madonkene village. The children are Bonolo Choma aged 07, Kabelo Magane aged 07, Karabo Magane aged 07, Tumelo Magane aged 06 and Percy Mashifane aged 07.
The matter was reported to the Police and the search operation was activated, led by the SAPS Hlogotlou Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Manasoe, comprised of the SAPS Hlogotlou members, the SAPS Provincial Search and Rescue Team and the Department of Health Rescue Team. The search was conducted until midnight at the Mountains. The children were subsequently found in the early hours of this morning, at about 06:30.
The Provincial Commissioner was welcomed by Headman Mahlangu and met the parents of the reported children and later, addressed members of the community.
The Provincial Commissioner outlined the following issues to members of the community:
* Gender Based Violence (GBV) and encouraged everyone to report it immediately to the Police.
* He advised and encouraged the parents and Guardians to take care of their children at all times and to monitor their movements closely.
* To report missing persons immediately.
* Encouraged community members to collaborate with the police in the fight against crime and to maintain the strong partnership Policing.
Members of the Community were delighted to meet the Provincial Commissioner and they also appreciated the good work done by the SAPS Hlogotlou Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Manasoe and his Management Team.
