Provincial commissioner visits Vhembe District

MAKHADO – The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe today, accompanied by the Deputy Provincial Commissioner responsible for Corporate Services Major General Christine Morakaladi, Provincial Head of Operational response services Brigadier Sam Tinyani,Visible Policing Brigadier Mosima Maila,Corporate Communication and Liaison Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo visited Makhado outside Louis Trichardt in the Vhembe District.

The Provincial Commissioner met with the 22 station commanders under the Vhembe District who were led by the acting District Commissioner Brigadier Eddie Van der Walt.

The Provincial Commissioner interacted with all the Station Commanders as part intervention mechanism to address challenges and support these managers in their endeavours to fight against crime in the province.

As part of the programme, a joint operation with other law enforcement agencies was conducted which resulted in the arrest of 04 illegal immigrants, 07 for non-compliance with liquor Act, 01 for contravening the Disaster Management Act and 04 traffic summons were issued .

During the operation, police confiscated 440 grams of dagga, liquor, illicit cigarettes, cellphones, etc

The Provincial Commissioner wrapped up the program by paying a courtesy visit to the Vhavenda king Toni Mphephu Ramabulani at the palace in Dzanani.
