SAPS members reach out to Mzansi Community Centre

NORTHERN CAPE – Today, 10 September 2020 members of Group D performing Covid-19 crime prevention duties offered a helping hand to the Mzansi Community centre in Barkley-West.
The members amongst themselves collected clothing, blankets, toys and bought vegetables which they handed over to the Management of the Centre.
The Mzansi Centre was founded by the NPO Building a Future (BAF) in 1996 and previously operated from various homes in Barkley-West.
The Centre was officially opened in December 2016 and was built with funds from various donors and businesses.
It provides various services, training programmes and meals to the community especially the youth of Barkley-West.
Since the Lockdown period commenced the Centre was able to provide take away meals to 510 households in Barkley-West with the assistance and generous donations from various donors.
The SAPS members have pledged their support to the centre in terms of assisting with the daily functioning of the centre. This was a clear display of the SAPS Caring for our communities.
