Suspect appeared in court for tax fraud

MPUMALANGA – David Sizanempi Palmer (41) appeared in the Nelspruit Magistrate Court on Friday, 13 August 2021 on a charges of for fraud, money laundering and theft or alternative charge of contravening the provisions of the Tax Administration Act, Act 28 of 2011.

This followed his arrest by members of the Hawks Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team shortly before his court appearance.

It is alleged that the suspect registered the company called Tshangakuye Trading CC in March 2018. It is further alleged that he subsequently submitted false and unlawful tax returns to the South African Revenue Service, claiming and prejudicing the Revenue service actual loss amount of R203 681.49.

The suspect was released on R2000-00 bail and the case was postponed to the 15 September 2021 for further investigation.

More arrests are expected as the investigations continues.
