Three years correctional supervision sentence for a high court official

EASTERN CAPE – Noxolo Gloria Lutseke (38) was sentenced by Gqeberha Regional Court on 03 February 2023 for charges of Fraud and defeating the ends of Justice.

On 08 June 2016, Lutseke, who was employed at the High court in Gqeberha as an administration clerk, requested money from members of the public in order to expedite their request for services. Another member of the public also complained that she was charged for services and had to pay an amount of R2500-00 to Lutseke. The member of the public had to transfer the funds from her bank account to Lutseke’s cellphone number as a money voucher. Lutseke also requested one of her co-workers to delete important files from her computer.

Lutseke was arrested by Gqeberha based Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team of the Hawks on 09 June 2016 and was released on warning the same day. She made numerous court appearances until her ultimate conviction on 04 November 2022 and her sentencing on 03 February 2023. Lutseke will undergo three years correctional supervision sentence accompanied by three years imprisonment suspended for five years.
