Two car hijackers arrested in Mothibistad

Two male suspects, aged 19 and 22 respectively were arrested by Mothibistad SAPS members on Sunday, 20 March 2022 at about 05:00 at Seven Miles village for car hijacking.

According to information, the male victim reported the incident at the Mothibistad police station and alleged that his Polo vehicle was hijacked by three male persons.

As members were at Seven Miles they saw a Polo vehicle fitting the description as per the complaint with three occupants.

After noticing the police, the Polo sped off and a car chase ensued.

The driver lost control and hit a wall.

All suspects fled on foot but police managed to arrest two of the three suspects. Police are still searching for the third suspect.

Brigadier Johnny Besnaar, the Acting District Commander of JTG applauded Mothibistad SAPS members for their vigilance alertness in apprehending the suspects.

The two suspects will appear in the Mothibistad Magistrates Court soon on charge of car hijacking.
