Two people killed during a traditional dance rehearsal in Ulundi, suspect in custody

DURBAN – It is alleged that last night at 21:00, there was a rehearsal for a traditional Zulu dance (ingoma) in a rondavel at Dumaneni area in Ulundi, when shots were fired through both windows.

During the shooting, two people aged 38 and 39 were fatally wounded. Six people were injured and transported to hospital for medical attention. Charges of murder and attempted murder were opened at Ulundi SAPS for investigation.

Ulundi detectives immediately commenced with their investigation and a 27-year-old man was placed under arrest. He will appear in the Mahlabathini Magistrates Court next week.
