Vhuthu Hawe operation nets suspects in the province

NORTHERN CAPE – The SAPS across the province embarked on different crime prevention actions and arrested suspects for allegedly being involved in criminal activities.

In Homevale, Kimberley and Ikhutseng, Warrenton police followed up on information and arrested 3 male suspects with a total of 500 Mandrax worth about R50 000-00.

The SAPS also confiscated cash amounting to R16 000-00 which is the alleged proceeds of drug sales on 22 September 2022.

Three males were also arrested for aggravated robbery in Green Street in Kimberley on

23 September 2022. The victims stopped a patrol vehicle patrolling in the area and the males were arrested after being caught red handed.

Police also retrieved 10 cartons of cigarettes they allegedly robbed from the victim.

On 23 September 2022 in Victoria West police confiscated 600 litres concoction. One male suspect arrested and police seized 3 stolen sheep carcasses, 50 bags of cement and 5 Dixon car batteries. Police also confiscated 258 dog food tablets which the suspect allegedly sold as Mandrax tablets.

In Olifantshoek two alleged drug houses were raided and police found 253 dagga pokes and 203 Mandrax tablets with a total street of R20 000-00. Two male suspects were arrested for allegedly dealing in drugs.

All the suspects will be appearing in their respective local courts soon. Police will continue unabatedly with similar operations and squeeze the space for criminals to operate across the Northern Cape.
