MOUNT AYLIFF – The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit in Mt Ayliff has once again swooped on yet another rape suspect beleived to be a Pastor at midday of Saturday, 23 April 2022 in Shugarbush Locality, Mount Ayliff.<\/p>\n
The information suggests that the victim was at home with young children during the day, when the alleged Pastor of the local church arrived asking for the parents. The report further indicates that he left and returned again in the evening and stayed until late when other children had gone to sleep. He allegedly used the opportunity to grab the 16-year-old girl and raped her. The incident occurred in September 2021, but the child did not report it at the time.<\/p>\n
The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation. The male suspect, aged 31, was subsequently arrested and charged for rape. He is expected to appear in Mount Ayliff Magistrate Court on Monday, 25 April 2022 on the said charges.<\/p>\n
The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nomthetheleli Mene has hailed the sterling work and commitment of the Police in Mount Ayliff, for their unwavering determination to eliminate the culture of Gender Based Violence in the Alfred Nzo District. The suspect remains in custody until his court appearance.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
