{"id":48785,"date":"2022-06-22T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-06-22T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southafricatribune.com\/?guid=400ca62f6ae38a90cd84f7a13abf6ac9"},"modified":"2022-06-22T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-06-22T00:00:00","slug":"three-arrested-in-springbok-for-copper-worth-approximately-r1-million","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricatribune.com\/three-arrested-in-springbok-for-copper-worth-approximately-r1-million\/","title":{"rendered":"Three arrested in Springbok for copper worth approximately R1 million"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NORTHERN CAPE &#8211; The Springbok SAPS Visible Policing unit received a complaint of alleged copper theft at a cellphone tower and their swift reaction ensured the arrest of three male suspects.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, 21 June at about 08:00, the SAPS members found the suspects with the copper and chased after the five males and managed to arrest three suspects in the veld near the Springbok Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 86m of copper was stolen and police managed to retrieve about 70m on the scene. The SAPS members also confiscated two pangas, a hand saw and a screwdriver that was allegedly utilized in the commission of crime.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects should be appearing in the Springbok Magistrate\u2019s Court soon on charges of tampering with, damage, or destroy essential infrastructure.
