Stakeholders to host labour tenants assembly at Constitutional Hill
The Director-General of the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Mr Mooketsa Ramasodi, will attend the two-day Labour Tenants Assembly on 10 – 11 November 2022, at Constitutional Hill in Johannesburg, Gauteng Province.
The two-day Labour Tenants Assembly is hosted by the Special Master of Labour Tenants, the Association for Rural Advancement, the University of Johannesburg’s Centre for Sociological Research and Practice, and various Labour Tenant Organisations.
Many participants will be labour tenants, but a significant number will also consist of academics, non-governmental organisations, members of the legal fraternity, government officials, and experts involved in the land reform process. This will allow a diverse number of stakeholders and actors in the land reform industry to be able to interact with each other and express their perspectives.
The Assembly will also provide an opportunity for labour tenants and the various organisations from different provinces to interact amongst each other, in terms of how to organize themselves to the benefit of an individual claimant.
