KOMANI – Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nomthetheleli Mene visited two (2) families in Chris Hani District, in response to the tragic news that two members attached to Queenstown SAPS lost their children after they drowned into a dam in Komani recently.

According to reports, two children, both aged seven, went missing and they were found lifeless the following day.

Women’s Network, Men for Change and Junior Management Core accompanied the Provincial Commissioner to the families. Employee Health and Wellness (EHW) team also formed part of the entourage.

As she consoled the families, Lieutenant General Mene expressed the pain felt by the SAPS Senior Management and the entire family when they heard about the appalling news.

Both families expressed their gratitude for the visit, as it served as a pain reliever.
